The Quantum of Quanta (QoQ) project is an independent interdisciplinary research initiative in physics and philosophy of science, developing a new concept of fundamental discrete space and building an open intellectual space and modern scientific worldview around it.
Official status of the project. Quantum of Quanta is being developed in Belgium as an internal project of our nonprofit association. To date, as you may see, the following has already been done:
- the official concept and project website has been created, where the main text of the concept is published (version 1.0 in English and Russian)
- the concept book has been published (electronic and print editions)
- the main project media channels have been launched (Telegram, X, Facebook, YouTube)
- the concept text has been placed in open scientific archives and repositories (GitHub, Archive); the scientific publication has been assigned a DOI
Openness and accessibility: Quantum of Quanta is a fully open and publicly accessible project. All materials are available online free of charge. Support is not a condition of access. It helps preserve the open corpus that has already been created and sustain the further development of the project.
Scientific Concept Summary
The contradictions of modern physics:
— the incompatibility of quantum mechanics and general relativity
— the presence of hypothetical entities (dark matter, dark energy)
— limits of applicability in the form of singularities
— the model-dependent nature of cosmological expansion parameters
— the unexplained origin of the fundamental interactions
— the lack of understanding of the nature of space and time.
To overcome these contradictions, Quantum of Quanta (QoQ) is being developed as a concept of discrete multidimensional space.
The methodology and objectives of the concept are to proceed while (i) requiring no artificial entities, (ii) interpreting observed physical phenomena in an internally consistent manner, (iii) eliminating the greatest achievable number of known contradictions in modern physics, (iv) forming an integral picture of physical reality, (v) preserving computability / formalizability at an acceptable level of abstraction, and (vi) maintaining a simple and clear language of exposition.
Content of the concept: space is discrete and consists of elementary multidimensional quanta. Space Quanta carry charge, and their interaction is fundamental. All interactions arise from it and from the topology of space.
The state of Space Quanta is described by a wave function. The wave function has a state-change frequency. The frequency of the wave function is the time quantum.
The transfer of Space Quanta charge into space gives rise to substance. The emergence of substance forms domains with their own global arrow of time and local physical constants.
Space expands through an increase in the number of Space Quanta as their dimension decreases. Inhomogeneities in the dimensions of space cells generate the large-scale structure of domains and manifest as gravitational effects.
In this interpretation, observed physical phenomena are treated as consequences of the dynamics of the structure and configurations of discrete space.
